Ok! So I told you my last post was going to be the last post for 2012. . . . .

I may have lied just a little bit.

So it's New Years Eve guys. Are you having a party? or are you heading out and hitting the town in your glad rags?

I myself am heading down to my local for a few drinks but that doesn't mean I can party all day with my family and some yummy nibbles.

And what better than a sweet (but not overly sweet may I add) Cookie Dough Dip, with chocolate pretzels, naturally.

2012 Favourites Round-Up

Ok, It's almost the New Year already!!!

How did that happen? Craziness.

Christmas seemed to disappear way too quickly, the New Year is rapidly creeping up on us which means I have a busy months coming up (My little one turns 2 on the 22nd of January and I'm gunna go Cuh-Razy!!!)

So today I don't bring you a recipe (Sorry Guys I'm still chilling after Christmas and have been rather lazy) but I'm bringing you a small round-up of my favourite recipes in these last few short months.

Fruity Mincemeat Cookies

It's officially Christmas Eve and Santa preparations are well underway.

The tree is floating on a rather large cloud of presents, the stockings are hung and are all ready to fill with goodies.

And of course Santa will have some freshly baked cookies to munch on when he lands on our roof late tonight.

Cookie Dough Cake

By now everyone has heard of the horrific events that happened at an Elementary school in Sandy Hook, CT.
I don't believe in glorifying the man who took 26 valued lives from this world.

Instead I think we should be glorifying the incredible heros from that day. The teachers that saved so many childrens lives and sacrificed their own and also to remember those that were lost.

All my thoughts and prayers are with those families dealing with the loss of loved ones.

Christmas, if you hadn't already guessed, is my favourite time of the year and I'm starting to think my love of the festive period is genetic.

My wee madam isn't even 2 yet and she is obsessed with me reading her 'Twas the night before Christmas' as her bedtime story.

Now this could be something to do with the numerous pictures of the moon throughout the book as she currently also has an obsession with the big white moon, but I would rather believe it's the magic of Christmas.

Mince Pie Cupcakes with Brandy Whipped Cream

I adore home baked mince pies but this year I just couldn't find any get up and go to make them

Yes, I know it's still only earlyish December but I just know I'm not going to be making them.

However I still need to get my mince pie fix and those shop bought ones really just don't cut it.

White Christmas Cookie (And a Food Blogger Cookie Swap)

That's what Christmas is all about.....right?

Well in the traditional spirit of Christmas I signed up to the The Great Food Blogger Cookie Swap, Which is an event organised by some fabulous ladies over at The Little Kitchen and Love and Olive Oil, where you get to bake a dozen cookies for 3 other lovely food bloggers and in return you get sent 3 dozen cookies by 3 other food bloggers.

Mash-Up Cookie Bars

So I was feeling lazy today (Not really a shocker for the people that know me).

But I still fancied baking something yummy, cookies to be in fact but quite frankly didn't have the patience to bake batches of cookies.

Also I had a few things I really needed to use up in the cupboard (Fudge pieces, Chocolate Chips, Dessicated Coconut) and then I had a bit of a lightbulb moment.

Oreo Stuffed Cinnamon Pookies

 A call to all UK and Irish bloggers. I've been getting pretty frustrated recently, due to when I'm pouring over food pictures on the blogs that I follow I suddenly realise most of them are American. So those Cinnamon chip, candy cane oreos and nutter butters are impossible for me too get my hands on (Sad Face)

And the price to order a couple of chocolate bars is, well, frankly not worth it, anyone else have the same problem?

Brown Sugar Shortbread

If shortbread were the upper class of the biscuit world this would certainly be the queen bee.

The brown sugar of this cookie really ups the anti on the richness of this cookie.

Paired with the shortbread melt in your mouthness, you really can't get any better.

With a generous addition of chopped glace cherries, which look like little jewels, this cookie is really a tempting treat.
